Salty Roads band was created by folks expanding their musical abilities and experiences through the School of Rock. From the learnings there they graduated and created their own band. While people have come and gone through the band for various reasons over the years, the core character for Salty Roads has not changed. Salty Roads strives to be an outstanding talented band, not a garage band, pick up band, or jam band. Song selections are broad and attempt to appeal to people of all ages. We thank those who support us.

“Music is my Happy Place”. Growing up, Vicky was exposed to an eclectic variety of music genres spanning from Big Bands to Heavy Metal. She was always humming or singing along. In her youth, Vicky sang in school and church choirs. Being in a band was always a dream of her’s, but life happened. Many years later, she enrolled at School of Rock to take vocal lessons and hasn’t looked bank since. In addition to founding Salty Roads, Vicky was involved in founding acoustic band, 4Peace Acoustic, performing covers providing their unique spin implementing 3-4 part harmonies. Vicky is proof that you’re never too old to Rock n Roll!
Steve has always enjoyed playing music in one form or another. He believes that music fills our souls and is something that cannot be taken away from us. Steve started piano lessons in grade school. With only 4 years of formal lessons, he continued to develop his talents on his own. He is self-taught on percussion, acoustic guitar, and harmonica. In Midpark High School he played a Fender Rhodes piano in Jazz Band, a xylophone in Marching Band, and various percussion instruments in Concert Band. At the University of Akron he marched tri-toms then quad’s. Upon graduating he played guitar in church choirs for many years. With the continued desire to learn and grow, Steve moved on and found Salty Roads in need of a keyboard player. Steve is currently studying jazz under Professor Anthony Fuoco at Baldwin Wallace University.
John started performing at a very early age, singing in school and acapella church choirs. His first instrument at 7 years old was the cello. He then progressed to the trombone and piano. At 18 he took up the guitar then fell in love with the bass which is his absolute favorite instrument. John is influenced by prog rock and bluegrass, but also has a love for classical music. He loves playing acoustic guitar and singing harmonies. He has performed with numerous bands before becoming a member of Salty Roads Band and is having the time of my life.
In his extensive drumming “career,” Tom Getz has performed in every size and type of venue, before crowds large and small. His beats have driven original and cover bands spanning nearly every musical genre: oldies, Motown, Americana, blues, trad country, country rock, glam rock, classic rock, contemporary Christian, and more. Tom most recently drummed for Remember When, The Sam Getz Band, Gringo Stew, and The Red Dirt Disciples. In addition to The Salty Roads Band, he frequently volunteers his talents with the all lawyer-musician No Name Band, playing danceable music from the ‘60s. ‘70s, and ‘80s, for charity events. Rocco comes from a sound upbringing. He likes to play the slide flute, and kazo in his spare time, and has been playing the radio for years. He can change the dial like no one else. Because of his love for disco music he has a large collection of glittery outfits and platform shoes. Since he also has two ears, he noticed that he has a knack for sounds. He can distinguish between high and low pitches along with quiet and loud volumes. Upon marrying Vicky part of the dowery included Salty Roads. He graciously started mixing the sound for Salty Roads. If it looks like he is playing video games on his iPad at a gig, he is really monitoring our sound and making the necessary adjustments.
